An Orton turn is predictable, and few would expect a Riddle turn. I doubt WWE’s creative team has thought too far ahead, but it would be interesting to see Riddle turn heel. Why would Orton put up with Riddle for the tag titles? And is Riddle oblivious to his insults? Is he really as dense as he sounds? Does he not know how annoying he is to his partner? Or is this Riddle playing his own set of mind games? Perhaps this is some kind of elaborate plan, and it’s actually Riddle who is using Orton while getting away with all kinds of shenanigans. It’s an odd dynamic we have not seen before (some may compare it to the Rock N’ Sock Connection), which works in some ways and not in others. He has encouraged more of a killer instinct in Riddle by giving him examples of what a heel would do. His character pretends to be a face to make this partnership work. Amore and Cassady, meanwhile, will ride into Raw to give it an injection of energy in no time at all.What’s difficult to comprehend is… why would he care? Are the tag titles worthy enough to put up with Riddle? At the least, it’s obvious that Randy is using Riddle, and doing so as a heel wearing a baby face disguise. The Revival feels like the team that will be at the developmental brand for the long run. Winning the belts would it only make it more likely that they stick around at NXT. Speculation about the two babyfaces moving to the main roster has been growing of late.Ī standout performance here in which they get cheated out of the titles would be a smart lead-in for their Raw debut. There's a great chance WWE went this route to help introduce Amore and Cassady to a wider audience. In a surprising move, NXT is getting a portion of the stage here. Perhaps this bout will ignite the rivalry, but it's too cold right now to predict anything other than The New Day retaining.
As it stands, it just feels like some midcare fare to round out the card. If WWE had thoughts of crowning Sheamus and Company, it would have offered more foreshadowing and played up the two faction's issues. That indicates that there won't be a title change. League of Nations? Because they've done nothing with the feud on TV. Kevin Berge WWE still building up New Day vs. Make no mistake about it: This is a warm-up for The Beast Incarnate. It would make zero sense for WWE to then have Lesnar limp into the match for the sake of a guy who may end up getting crammed into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
